Safety, Training and the Environment – we commit to high standards for our team and yours.

SMW Group adheres to an accredited Health Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) management system. We’re dedicated to maintaining the highest levels of employee wellbeing, environmental care and the quality of our service and products for clients.

Health and Safety

Safety is not just a byword at SMW Group. Our constant, unchanging priority is the safety of our employees, contractors and visitors to our work premises. When we are on site with clients, we maintain all site safety policies and processes. We run ZeroHarm workplaces and aim to achieve zero workplace incidents or accidents.

Our safety management systems are accredited to ISO 45001:2019 and AS/NZS 4801. We also fully comply with the provisions of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 2011 and its associated Regulations, Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards.

All team members participate in regular training on occupational health and safety (OH&S) and risk management. Our facilities and service vehicles are designated non-smoking zones, to minimise the hazards of passive smoking.

Training and Employment

All SMW Group team members have a shared responsibility to keep their work environment safe. It’s always the right time to improve even further, so all employees undertake regular training on workplace health and safety, including hazard and risk management and injury prevention strategies.

To fully understand the integral role of quality, and how to apply quality principles in their day to day roles, SMW Group staff regularly undertake personal development and Quality Management training. Added to their technical skills development, from apprentices to master tradespeople and managers, SMW Group staff have an enviable reputation in the region.
